Some Great Books You should Check Out

Hi everyone! I'm back...with a few good children's books I was glued to the past year or so! If you're still a kid, then these really bring your world to life! If you're an adult, these bring back childhood memories and things you've never discovered in childhood!

#1: Silverwing by Kenneth Oppel. A great adventure book, it focuses on the life of a bat named Shade. Told from his point of view is a heart-stopping series of escapades he takes to search for the family of migrating bats he is blown away from in a storm. Kenneth Oppel depicts bats, their habitats, actions, and beliefs in a fascinating way!

#2: Click here by Denise Vega. This book is mainly for tween/teen girls, portraying the daily life of a girl name Erin Swift, twelve years old, through two things: things that happen to her from her point of view, and her secret blog. Many things are changing in Erin's life, new friends, new crush, old friends growing apart--and a shocking embarassment that the whole school finds out about! From beginning to end, the mysteries and friendships of middle-school life bind you to the page!

#3: The White Giraffe by Lauren St. John. It's no wonder this book is nominated for Surrey School Book of the Year 2008-2009! It is a marvellous read about a girl named Martine who is sent to live in Africa with a hostile, secretive grandmother when her parents die in a fire. There she sees many fascinating animals on the game reserve, including a rare white giraffe whom she befriends. But why is everyone around her keeping secrets from her? And what will she do when she finds out she and the white giraffe are in danger? Don't miss out on this terrific and adventurous book!
